Are you experiencing problems with your 3CX and Sky Broadband? You’re not alone. At Commercial Networks, we’ve recently been alerted to a change in Sky’s settings that’s causing major disruption for users relying on 3CX for remote communication.

If your 3CX system has suddenly stopped working over Sky Broadband, it’s likely due to the automatic blocking of the 3cx.co.uk domain by Sky’s Broadband Shield. Fortunately, there’s a straightforward fix, read on for a step-by-step guide to get your service back up and running.

3CX and Sky Broadband Blocking

Over the past weekend, Sky Broadband users began experiencing issues connecting to 3CX. The root of the problem? Sky has reportedly added 3cx.co.uk to their Broadband Shield’s list of blocked sites.

This means anyone working from home using Sky Broadband and depending on a 3CX phone system may find themselves unable to make or receive calls.

This sudden restriction affects many small businesses and remote workers who depend on reliable VoIP phone systems like 3CX to stay productive.

How to Unblock 3CX on Sky Broadband (Step-by-Step)

Thankfully, there’s a simple solution that will have your 3CX system back up in no time. Follow these steps to adjust your Sky Broadband Shield settings:

  1. Visit https://www.sky.com/myaccount
  2. Sign in to your Sky account.
  3. Navigate to Broadband & Talk Settings.
  4. Select Broadband Shield.
  5. Click on Manage Exceptions.
  6. Under “Allow a website”, enter 3cx.co.uk.
  7. Click Allow Website to whitelist the domain.

Once this change has been made, your 3CX connection should be restored. Be sure to refresh your system or restart your 3CX app/device to apply the changes.
