A beginners’ guide to AI for business
AI, it’s all around us from Siri and Alexa, chatbots on websites and product recommendations on Amazon but what is it and how can you harness the power for your business?
So what is AI? To break it down to it’s simplest form it’s computer systems designed to perform tasks that would have previously needed human intelligence.
From Data to Decisions
Generative AI takes the raw data and scans it to find patterns and relationships before creating a model to make predictions on new data. For example, Clipchamp can be used to record and take meeting notes and then using Microsoft’s Copilot in Teams you can summarise your meetings, extract key points and follow up actions. How can AI help your business?
- Improving product demonstration videos
- Designing physical products
- Implementing chatbots for customer service
- Writing email responses
- Simplifying the process of creating content in a particular style
Concerns
- Does the content sound genuine, sincere and if it wasn’t generated by AI?
- Test, test, test or check and double check! AI isn’t guaranteed to provide perfect answers.
- Biased outcomes can sneak in.
- Identification and Tracking, if you’re an iPhone user adding a new app you’ll have seen the alert asking if you’ll allow the app to track your usage across other apps.
- Vulnerability to attacks. Make sure your cybersecurity is top notch.
