DoS

A DoS - Denial of Service attack is when someone intentionally overloads a website, server, or network with so much traffic or data that it can’t handle it and stops working properly. This makes it unavailable for real users trying to access it.

Here’s a simple breakdown:

  1. The goal: To disrupt a service (like a website or app) so people can’t use it.
  2. How it works: The attacker floods the target with fake requests, overwhelming it and causing it to crash or slow down.
  3. Impact: Businesses can lose money and users during a DoS attack, and it can damage their reputation.

Think of it like too many people trying to squeeze through a door at the same time, blocking others from getting through. A Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS)
